Black Box by mrgn
The first product I designed at mrgn (and the first consumer facing UI) was the black box, later known as "vault", mrgn's first passively managed strategy which offered APY on sophisticated delta-netural arbitrage strats developed by mrgn research. This product had two components, a waiting room where users would sign up and desposit, and the vault which earned interest.
Product
How can we disguise complex strategies through a simple interface?
Selection Process (WR -> Vault Bridge)
Those in the waiting room had acceptance states before they were allowed to transfer to the vault.
UI
Those in the waiting room had acceptance states before they were allowed to transfer to the vault. A referral mech allowed users to skip spots in the waitlist.
Accepted - Transfer to BB
Marketing - "vm" is born
vm is still used throughout the mrgn community today.
Later Use: We later used a similar UX for LIP onboarding.
Conclusion
The Blackbox proved to be the first UI from mrgn to successfully onboard 1MM in user funds. Despite the Mango hack, this was a successful first consumer facing onbaording experience from mrgn.
