Kivo
SocialFi on Solana, designed around friend groups
Kivo Finance

Before coming onboard as design cofounder, Kivo was a simple way to send payments. I decided I want to take a social twist on the platform and design the experience around friend groups.

Starting with Friend Groups
The idea behind Kivo was to experiment with onchain buying and chatting with friends.

onboarding marketing campaign
I created an NFT called KYN to incentivize friend groups to signup.

After thinking of how we can draw traction before launch, I ideated a referral campaign to allow users to create their groups before launch, which would let them mint if 10 invites reached. Since our platform used Twitter, this was easy to implement.

The ideation of the NFT and referral campaign was key for prelaunch hype. This, paired with clever video marketing, allowed Kivo to generate 5,000 users prelaunch.

Conclusion
Kivo made it a long way from the initial spec of a platform to send payments. By leveraging a social approach and designing around friend groups, this allowed Kivo to get a large headstart on the platform with hype.
